Joseph Tabak is the Chairman and Co-Managing Partner of Princeton and serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee. He has structured and executed countless large and complex transactions involving a host of iconic properties in NYC. Over the past 30+ years, Joseph has worked on more than $13bn of deals representing every commercial real estate asset class. He is renowned for his transactional sophistication, creativity, and expertise in forging long term deals structured to withstand the most volatile real estate market cycles. He is often sought out by owners of real estate for his advice and assistance in navigating and solving the most intricate and difficult real estate challenges including major loan workouts. During his career, Joseph has raised funds from private, public, and institutional capital providers, developing an extensive network of major owners, operators, lenders, and financial institutions. These valuable relationships have enabled him to consistently devise unique deal structures and close complex transactions. Joseph is also a prominent philanthropist and sits on the board of numerous charitable organizations.
Asher Abittan is a Co-Managing Partner of Princeton and serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee. Previously, Asher served as the Head of Acquisitions & Originations of a NYC-based boutique real estate private equity firm with a portfolio of $2bn. Aside from working on new acquisitions, financings of properties, and overseeing development projects, he was instrumental in the establishment and management of the firm’s debt platform. In his time there, he oversaw the execution of >$150m of debt origination to various borrowers in New York City. He was also a principal at a NYC single family office where he oversaw the placement and portfolio management of the family’s investment capital into various real estate, credit, and venture strategies across the US. Previously, Asher worked at his family’s real estate business after spending two years at PwC as a senior associate focusing on real estate private equity funds and public REITS. He graduated with honors from Yeshiva University with a B.S. in Accounting and a degree in Jewish Law.
Dror Segal is a Co-Managing partner of Princeton and serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee. He previously served as the Chief Investment Officer of a NYC-based boutique private equity firm with a portfolio of $2bn. As CIO, he led the firm’s investment activities across equity and debt and was instrumental in the acquisition of more than 1.5m sq ft of office and senior living assets in Manhattan. Prior to that, Dror worked in an acquisitions role at the Kushner Companies, and in Skala Ltd., a real estate private equity firm, where he led transactions across multiple major European cities. Dror is a reserve captain in the Israeli Navy where he spent 7+ years as the head of the electronic infrastructure supporting the IDF’s missile interception systems. He received his B.A. in Finance from the Israel Naval Academy and his MBA at University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business where he founded the Ross Real Estate Fund, a student-led investment group backed by the school’s endowment.
Mitch Kuflik is a Partner in Princeton and serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee. Mitch is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Brahman Capital Corp. (f. 1989), a multi-billion dollar hedge-fund that focuses on identifying exceptional CEOs in the public equities market who are uniquely shareholder driven. He oversees all aspects of Brahman’s fundamental research, focusing primarily on generating new investment ideas, portfolio construction, and risk management. He was a guest finance lecturer at Yale University and was a featured speaker at the annual J.P. Morgan Chase Alternative Investment Conference. Among his numerous philanthropic activities, Mitch sits on the advisory board of the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University and is the founder of the Sallie Foundation for teen suicide prevention. Mitch brings diverse investment processes and thought to Princeton in addition to his relationships with the most prestigious institutional clients and business associates at the highest levels of global finance. He received a B.A. in economics from Harvard University.
Kevin Mitchell brings over 10 years of professional experience in the real estate, private equity, and hedge fund industries to Princeton. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Princeton’s financial operations including accounting, tax, financial and management reporting, treasury management, internal controls, annual audits, budgeting & forecasting, and overseeing the rest of the accounting team. Prior to Princeton, Kevin was the CFO of a privately-held commercial real estate investment company, a controller at Kemany Advisory Services, a multi-billion dollar family office, and a fund controller at Auda Alternative Investments. He began his career in PwC New York after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from Ithaca College, as well as a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance & Investment from New York University. Kevin is a licensed CPA in the State of New York.
Benjamin is responsible for leading the due diligence, underwriting, and execution of new transactions. He also assists with asset management, helping ensure value accretion through realization of the deal. He joined Princeton from the Northwind Group, where he was a key member of the investment team, focusing on both debt and equity real estate transactions. He has significant deal execution and asset management experience including the closing and management of a $200m portfolio that involved the negotiation of a new 15-year lease as well as the acquisition and disposition of over 1m SF of properties in NYC. Prior to that, Ben was an investment banker in the global consumer products & retail group at UBS where he was involved in over $1bn of transactions including the restructuring of a specialty retailer. He graduated with High Distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, concentrating in Finance & Accounting.
Jake Maxwell is responsible for underwriting new transactions, conducting due diligence, loan servicing and asset management. He joined Princeton from Jefferies where he previously was as an Analyst in the M&A Investment Banking Group, focusing on contested situations and working closely with Jefferies’ data analytics team to develop predictive, analytical models. Prior to Jefferies, Jake was a Senior Associate in the M&A Strategy group at KPMG, where he provided deal-specific operations, growth, and structuring insights on multi-billion dollar M&A transactions across various industries. He received a Master’s and B.A. in Accounting from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business and is a licensed CPA in the State of New York.
Michelle Sysak is responsible for managing all personal and administrative duties at Princeton. She is a seasoned Personal Assistant with over 13 years in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Princeton, Michelle was a Senior Executive Assistant for Rosen Partners LLC, where she was the CEO’s right hand, managing employees for both business and personal and took on bookkeeping for various entities. In this role, she was honored to manage political and private events for U.S. Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senators, and Congressman. Prior to Rosen Partners, Michelle was a Real Estate Salesperson for Keller Williams. As a holder of her New York State Real Estate Brokers License, Michelle started her own brokerage, providing residential brokerage in the Bronx & Westchester and is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®.
